| We (again) had a fantastic evening at Treasure Island last night. It was a record turnout for our little sailing club. There were 18 Lasers on the starting line and 19 V15's (ugh, almost had 'em). In addition, the weather was wonderful. The breezes remained constant and the water was flat.
We were again witness to the marvelous skill of our guest from Chile, Marc Jux. I think that everyone would agree that the magical rainbow colored sail was only a small part of his success. The guy is just FAST! Wow! I actually had to Google his name when I got home. He has a very successful sailing resume. He took a mid 70's hull and sail and worked real magic. One sailor stated that he was trying to watch him to see how he was doing it, but you can't watch what you can't catch.... Congratulations Marc. I hope that you return in the fall. The after party was great. With beer flowing, unlimited rum 'n cokes, hot dogs, hot links, sausages, chips and dips, etc., it was a huge success. As every week, sailors compared notes and stories regarding the races that had just been completed. This can be as much fun as the on-the-water education. Thanks again to all that attended.
